Features
1. Accessibility Checker
The Accessibility Checker provides instant insights into accessibility issues on your webpage. Simply click the ‘Audit this page’ button to initiate an automatic scan. The tool analyses the current webpage and highlights accessibility errors and warnings based on WCAG criteria.
Note: You can set the WCAG levels, and issues will appear up to the level you set.

Accessibility Issues
When you click on any issue, the affected elements will be highlighted by a red dot and a box on the webpage. You can also get the full report of accessibility issues found in that particular page by clicking ‘Get report’ button.
Best practices are recommended techniques that enhance usability and accessibility, even though they are not tied to any specific WCAG success criterion. While these issues do not result in formal non-compliance, addressing them contributes to a more structured, predictable, and user-friendly experience, particularly for screen reader and keyboard users.

2. Inspect Tools
The Inspect Tools section allows you to explore different accessibility aspects of a webpage interactively.
Focus Order
Displays the tab order of interactive elements on your webpage.

Focus order
When enabled, it visually overlays a numbered sequence on the page, showing how focus moves as you press the Tab key. Each element is also listed in the extension panel on the right side, making it easier to review and debug the logical navigation flow.
Alt Text
Lists all the images detected on the webpage along with their associated alt text.

Alt text detected images
This helps you quickly identify missing, duplicated, or unclear alternative text attributes, ensuring quick resolutions.
Heading
Displays all the headings (H1 to H6) present on the page along with their hierarchy and level.

Heading structure list
This helps you verify the proper structure and semantic organisation of your content, ensuring that assistive technologies can interpret the page correctly.
Color Contrast Checker

The Color Contrast Checker helps you evaluate whether the text, non-text elements, and background color combinations on your webpage meet accessibility standards defined by WCAG.
You can manually select or inspect foreground and background colors directly within the extension, or try out different color combinations using the built-in color picker. Once selected, the tool calculates the contrast ratio and clearly indicates whether it passes WCAG AA and AAA accessibility requirements.
This feature ensures that your content remains readable for users with visual impairments or those with low vision. Validating colour combinations in real time helps designers and developers create more inclusive interfaces.
Landmarks
Displays the landmark regions present on the webpage, such as banner, navigation, main content, complementary, and content information areas.

3. Disability simulators
The Disability Simulators section helps you experience how users with different visual and cognitive impairments may perceive your webpage. These simulators provide an educational approximation of real-world accessibility challenges and help identify areas where usability can be improved.

Note: The simulations are intended for educational and testing purposes only and may not fully represent the real experiences of individuals with disabilities.
Color Blindness
Simulates different types of colour vision deficiencies, including Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia, and Achromatopsia.

Color blindness simulator
This helps you verify whether important information, buttons, charts, or visual indicators remain distinguishable for users with colour vision impairments.
Impaired Vision
Simulates various visual impairments such as cataracts, glare sensitivity, yellowing, loss of peripheral vision, loss of central vision, loss of contrast, and double vision.

This helps you understand how visual impairments may affect readability, focus, and interaction with your webpage content.
Dyslexia
Simulates reading difficulties associated with dyslexia by adjusting letter spacing, word spacing, and font rendering.

You can adjust the severity level to observe how text readability changes under different conditions. This helps evaluate whether your content layout and typography remain easy to read and understand.

The WebYes Accessibility Chrome Extension simplifies the process of checking and improving website accessibility.
With tools for inspecting tab order, alt text, heading structure, and color contrast checker, it serves as an accessibility testing companion for developers, designers, and QA professionals.
