How to Verify Accessibility Fixes Without Rescanning Your Website

When fixing accessibility issues, you often need to confirm whether a specific issue has been resolved on a page. Traditionally, this meant either running a new scan for that page, which replaces the previous scan results, or rescanning the entire website, which can take time and is unnecessary when you only want to verify a single page.

The Live Issue Verification feature in the WebYes addresses this issue by enabling you to verify accessibility fixes on an individual page without affecting your existing scan data.

Instead of rescanning, Live Issue Verification compares the current state of the page with the issues detected in your previous scan and shows which issues have been fixed, allowing you to validate your changes instantly.

How Live Issue Verification Works

Step 1: Open the Affected Pages section

Navigate to the Affected Pages section in your WebYes Accessibility dashboard.

Locate the page you want to verify and click Verify in extension.

If the Chrome extension was not installed, then you will be redirected to the Chrome Web Store, and you will need to install it to continue.

Step 2: Launch the Chrome Extension

The WebYes Accessibility Chrome Extension will automatically open and begin verifying the selected page.

During this process, the extension analyses the page against the issues detected during the previous scan.

Step 3: Review the Verification Results

Once the verification is complete, the extension displays:

• The total number of issues found on the page during the last full scan
• Issues that have been resolved since the last scan
• Issues that still exist
• The number of affected elements for each issue

Resolved issues are clearly marked, making it easy to understand what has changed without running another scan.

Step 4: View Fixed Elements

Click on any resolved issue to view the elements that have been successfully fixed.

This allows you to confirm exactly which elements no longer have accessibility violations.
