How to Connect Jira to Your WebYes / WebYes Accessibility Account
Last updated on 11 June 2026
Jira Integration enables you to connect WebYes / WebYes Accessibility with Jira and export accessibility findings as Jira tickets. Once configured, issues can be sent directly to Jira, where development teams can prioritise, assign, and track remediation work.
WebYes also supports Jira status synchronisation, allowing ticket updates in Jira to be reflected within WebYes. This helps teams manage accessibility issues more efficiently and keeps stakeholders informed about remediation progress.
To get started, first go to Account settings by clicking the profile icon in the top-right corner. Then select the Integrations option as shown below.

Then, under the Jira integration card, click on the Connect button.

On the Jira integration page, click the Connect to Jira button to begin the setup process.

Enter your Jira domain, Atlassian account email, and Jira API key in the required fields. Once you have entered the details, click on the Verify & continue button.
- Jira domain: Enter your Jira site name (the part before
.atlassian.net). For example, if your Jira URL ishttps://example-company.atlassian.net, enterexample-company. - Atlassian account email: Enter the email address associated with your Atlassian account.
- Jira API key: Enter the API token generated from your Atlassian account.
For more information on creating a Jira API token, please refer to the “How to Create a Jira API Token” article.

After successful authentication, you will be prompted to select a Jira project for each organisation. Choose the appropriate project from the dropdown menu and click Next.
If a new organisation is added after the Jira integration has already been configured, you can assign a Jira project to it at any time. To do this, navigate to Profile → Integrations → Project mapping edit and select a Jira project for the newly added organisation using the project dropdown menu.
You can also remove an existing project mapping if it is no longer required. Unlinking a project will prevent issues from that organisation from being exported to the previously associated Jira project until a new project is assigned.

Next, map the WebYes severity levels to the corresponding Jira priorities. Review the default mappings and make any changes if required. Then click Next.

On the Map issue type page, select the Jira issue type that should be used for automated accessibility checks. Once completed, click Next.

Then, choose the default Jira ticket status that should be assigned when issues are created from WebYes. After selecting the status, click Next.

You can also map WebYes categories to Jira labels. Select the appropriate labels for each category if needed. This step is optional and can be updated later from the integration settings. Click Next to continue.

Finally, review your configuration on the preview page and confirm the setup. Once completed, WebYes Accessibility will be successfully connected to Jira, and you can start creating and tracking Jira tickets directly from your accessibility findings.

Exporting Issues to Jira
Once the Jira integration is successfully configured, you can export accessibility issues directly from WebYes to Jira.
First, navigate to the All Issues page. You will see an Export to Jira button next to issues that have not yet been exported.

To export multiple issues at once, select the required issues using the checkboxes. You can also use the header checkbox to select all available issues. Then click the Export to Jira button.

After the export is completed, the issue will display an In Jira status along with the corresponding Jira issue key.

You can click the Jira issue key to open the ticket directly in Jira and view its details.

Jira Key

Jira ticket
In Jira, the exported issue will be created as a ticket in the configured project and assigned the default status selected during integration.

Syncing Jira Statuses
When the status of a Jira ticket changes, you can synchronise the latest status back to WebYes.
For example, if the ticket status is changed from To Do to In Progress in Jira, as shown below:

Return to WebYes and click the Sync Jira statuses button.

After the synchronisation is complete, the updated Jira status will be reflected in WebYes.

This allows teams to track the progress of Jira tickets directly from WebYes without needing to switch between platforms.
