Accessibility

Accessibility ensures that every person, regardless of any disability, can access the website. The score is calculated by combining automated checks (such as missing alt text and low contrast) with manual checks (such as keyboard navigation and screen reader usability). Automated checks account for 60% of the score, while manual checks cover the remaining 40%. This means the score cannot go beyond 60% unless the issues in the manual checks section are also resolved.

Each issue affects the score based on how severe it is and how many pages are impacted.
The scoring typically falls into ranges such as:

  • 90–100%: Excellent – highly accessible
  • 75–89%: Good – generally accessible, with some issues
  • 50–74%: Needs Improvement – multiple barriers
  • Below 50%: Poor – significant accessibility challenges

To improve your score, it’s recommended to run regular scans, fix high-impact issues first, and use both automated and manual audits for a complete view.

If you want to do only the accessibility checks, you can check them on ‘WebYes Accessibility’.
