How to Create a Jira API Token

Last updated on 11 June 2026

To connect WebYes Accessibility with Jira, you will need a Jira API token. This token allows WebYes to securely authenticate with your Jira account and perform actions such as creating and managing Jira tickets on your behalf without requiring your password.

First, log in to your Atlassian account and click on your profile icon in the top-right corner. Then select Account settings as shown below.

On the Account Settings page, click on the Security tab from the top navigation menu.

Scroll down to the API tokens section and click on the Create and manage API tokens option.

You will be redirected to the API Tokens page. Click on the Create API token button to create a new token.

In the dialog box that appears, enter a name for your API token and select an expiration date. Once you have filled in the required details, click the Create button.

After the token is created, Atlassian will display the generated API token. Click the Copy button and save the token in a secure location, as you will not be able to view it again after closing this window.

You can now use this API token when configuring the Jira integration in WebYes Accessibility.
