Last updated on 12 November 2024
Websites change often, and updates can sometimes cause broken links, slow performance, or accessibility issues. This article explains how to audit your site for accessibility issues with WebYes.
Steps to scan a website using WebYes
Step 1: For the initial scan, you will see a window as shown in the image below:

Initial scan page
Step 2: Enter your required website link to scan, then click the ‘Next‘ button to continue.
Step 3: After clicking the ‘Next’ button, the website will direct you to a new window where you should select the type of scan that you require. Three options will be shown, as seen below.
Quick Scan
A quick scan will conduct a check for five random pages on your website. You won’t be able to decide exactly which pages are going to be scanned.

Scan type selection window
After selecting the required scan, click on the ‘Start scan’ button to continue.
Note: Only the ‘Quick scan’ option will be available to users who opted for the free plan. Both the ‘Full scan’ and ‘Custom scan’ options are available to users who opted for the pro plan.
Full Scan
When the Full scan option is selected, you will see a drop-down when the ‘Optional settings’ is clicked, as shown below.

From there, you can specify the credit limits so that no extra credit will be spent while scanning the webpages. You can mention the URLs of the webpages that need to be prioritised while scanning, and you could also specify the URLs that don’t need scanning based on your needs.
Custom Scan
In a custom scan, you can select the exact pages of your website that need to be scanned by specifying the URLs.

Custom scan option
Once the scan is complete, you will see the WebYes dashboard as shown below, which provides details of the overall performance of your website. You can navigate through each of them via the left side navbar to get detailed information about the scan results.

If you have a Pro or Enterprise plan on WebYes, you can add multiple sites to scan according to your needs. A free plan gives 10 credits to spend on scanning webpages. A pro plan gives 700 credits, and an enterprise plan gives 2000 credits, along with other perks. To know more about credits, refer to this article on What Are Credits in WebYes and How Do They Work?
- Only the Account Owner and Admin(s) can initiate website scans.
- WebYes automatically scans websites upon addition, ensuring immediate evaluation. However, if your account reaches its credit limit, the website will still be successfully added, but the auto-scan will not be triggered until sufficient credits are available.
Steps to Add and Scan Multiple Websites using WebYes
Step 1: Click the drop-down arrow on the left side of the top navigation bar in the WebYes Dashboard and add the website you want to scan. Then click on ‘Add new website’ to proceed.

Add/select a different website option
Step 2: A new pop-up will appear, allowing you to enter the details of the website you want to scan, as shown in the image below.

After entering the details, click on the ‘Add’ button to continue. Once the website is added, you will see a pop-up as shown below.

You can either choose to scan the new webpage immediately or scan it later.
If you choose the ‘Scan later’ option, you will see the status as ‘Not yet scanned’ for the newly added website.

Note: If you click on the dashboard option of the newly added website and it has not yet been scanned, you will then be redirected to the scan option, as shown below in Step 3.

Final Thoughts
Now you can conduct audits of your websites to maintain the reliability, accessibility, and user-friendliness of your sites.
